Seemed like God picked up the wrong people to accomplish his missions

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

Neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

When we apply for a job, we look at the resume, the bio data of the applicant and try to select the perfect person for the job. But on the other hand God picks up the wrong people, weak people for the important missions.

Need a woman to become the mother of the promised son? God did not select the perfect young looking woman but a 90 year old wrinkled woman.

Need someone to free the slaves of Israel from the most powerful nation of the world at that time? God did not pick up a smooth talking, politically correct young man, but a stuttering 80 year old man named Moses.

1 Samuel 16:7 For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

God chose a shepherd boy (David)  to be the future king of Israel, David’s great grandmother was a prostitute named Rahab.

When Jesus wanted to select the disciples, he did not go to the educated and the famous but chose the poor uneducated fishermen.  When God wanted to select the apostle for the Gentile, he did not select the most qualified person for the job but a persecutor and a murderer name - Saul (Paul)

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

How about you? God can use the weak and the imperfect for his missions. Don’t be discouraged, once you are in Jesus, God will educate you for the mission, God will make you a strong man or a woman of God.

God can make the poor rich in Christ, God can make the weak strong in Christ, God can make the fearful, shy into courageous, bold, fearless person.
