If you are a Christian, then your priority is God’s word

By Nick Bibile

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The word first here in Greek is protos meaning priority above anything else.

When Jesus said seek first the Kingdom of God, but for many that is the last priority as they put everything else first and God last.  Even on Sunday they put God last.

If you have church service at 9 am then at the same time close to your church if a person running for the mayor is giving 10,000 php many will put the Word of God last and money first.

Mark 8:36

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?

They might even compromise by saying, I will get the 10 k today and miss church but next week I will go to church. These people want to serve two masters. God and money, which cannot be done as Jesus said;

Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Satan is the greatest tempter as he tempts the glories of this world, the sweetness of this world,  earthly thoughts, the enjoyments and vanities of this world. They put priorities in their pleasures, even during the Lord’s Day Sunday, they have no room for Jesus but they have room for their pleasures.

God gives them jobs, food, a place to live, protect them from dangers, sickness even accidents, yet they don’t think of Jesus. They have no true hunger for his Word. Yet they think they are going to heaven, they are wrong.

Beloved Jesus spoke more on hell than heaven. Because hell is a place of eternity.  In hell many are tormented forever, they will remember the pastor’s warning sermons on hell, forever forever. They cannot repent anymore as they took the word of God lightly and God became their last priority.

God can take away your breath anytime. If you hear these messages do not harden your heart, put your pride down and fall at the feet of Jesus for mercy. Do not be a plastic Christian but be genuine as God sees your heart,  God cannot be fooled as you are only fooling yourself.
