Will the believers go through the tribulation of Antichrist?

First I would like to give you the pre-tribulation position, then later I will critique this position.

Most modern churches believe the true born again believers will be raptured before the anti-Christ. This position is called the pre-tribulation rapture. Then others believe the believers will go through the wrath of Antichrist and the rapture and the second coming of Christ is the same. This position is called either mid tribulation where Christ will come in the middle of the tribulation , the other position is called the post tribulation where Christ will come at the end of the tribulation.

According to pre tribulation rapture, Christ will appear in the sky first, and the dead in Christ will raise first and then we who are alive will raise to be with the Lord forever. Then after seven years, when the tribulation is finished we will come back with the Lord (Second coming) to the earth. In this position.

This position became very popular after Hal Lindsey’s Christian end-times book in 1970; "The Late Great Planet Earth" was a best seller. This gave birth to movies of the end times. Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins didn’t waste time as their books and movies of Left Behind series stormed through many evangelical churches, we see bumper stickers carry slogans like: “In case of the Rapture, this vehicle will be unmanned,” or “The Rapture: The only way to fly!”

1 Thessalonians 4:15 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷ Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. ¹⁸ Therefore encourage one another with these words.

However, there is no word in the Bible for rapture, so how do we get the word rapture?

The word in verse 17, caught up in Greek is arpazw (harpazo - har-pad'-zo.) Which means to snatch or to seize. Our English word Rapture comes from the Latin word raptum with the same meaning to seize.

According to the end time movies it’s going to be a secret rapture. In this secret rapture airplanes will crash as Christian pilots go up in the rapture. Christian Television programs and radio will be interrupted as they are taken up in the rapture; may be a horrified husband will say, he and his wife were eating, when suddenly she disappeared right before his eyes. A mother may reports seeing her baby instantly vanish from its crib. A Christian doctor, who is doing a major surgery, suddenly disappeared from the operating room. The headlines of the newspapers will say “Millions Missing,” A secret rapture had happened, the Christians are taken away and the unbelievers are left behind.

But some reformed people who believe in this position say, it’s not going to be a secret rapture as everyone will hear the trumpet sound of God.

Also apostle Paul said, 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The best theory for this position would be the book of Revelation

Revelation 1;19 Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this.

The above scripture shows dealing with the church situation, the seven churches of the book of Revelation can be interpreted as the church age.

Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”

Here we see things must happen here after. When it says door standing open in heaven and a voice said, come up here, they think this is the rapture of the church as the church is never mentioned in the book of revelation after chapter 4 until Revelation chapter 20-22, so the believers will not go through the great tribulation.

Personally I don’t hold to this position and I will tell you why on a later time.
