Fear
of the Lord (Part Two)
Worship
and Service.
Ps 5:7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
There
are many churches today have become more like of an entertainment center or a
club and the above scripture is totally strange. At the presence of Gods name
there is a dreadful fear in the church, this is a fear of his glory and to his
name. We are not even worthy to attend church to worship and serve as we
deserve only his wrath. However we come to church not in our righteousness but
in Christ work, his righteousness, in his mercy, grace and love. As a result we
should have a tremendous reverence and a godly fear to God Almighty in worship
and service. Now we can worship the Lord in gladness and with trembling.
Ps
2Co
7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves
from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of
God.
If we
serve our employees with reverence and fear and a slave serves a princes with
fear how much more we who are created by God should worship and serve him with
fear. When we are gathered in the name of Jesus he is among us.

Seven
golden candlesticks are the churches. There is Jesus in the midst of them. When
John the apostle saw the heavenly Jesus he fell at his feet as dead. We hear
lies today of certain people saw Jesus and had a talk with them and gave a new
revelation. When you test them from scripture this is a lie from the devil.
We
need to worship and serve God in accordance to his word not in a worldly
manner. God executed judgment upon men who did not worship and serve him as per
his word and who did not have fear for God.
Nadab and
Abihu were burned to death with fire from heaven.
Le
10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer,
and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before
the LORD, which he commanded them not.
2 And
there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the
LORD.
3 Then
Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be
sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be
glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
They
took a common fire not from the burnt offering as per Leviticus chapter 9 where
the fire comes from heaven and consume the offering. They sinned with fire and
they were burned to death with fire. Nadab and Abihu were Aaron the high
priests sons. They heard the word from their father but were hypocrites.
Eli
another high priest their sons (Hophni and Phinehas )too died before the Lord
as they too had no fear before God. God brought judgment to the house of Eli.
1Sa 2:12
Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.
By
force they demanded men to give them sacrifice meat. (Read Lev 2:12-17)
1Sa
2:34 And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on
Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.
1Sa
4:11 And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and
Phinehas, were slain.
God
killed Uzza because he did not follow Gods instructions.
1Ch
13:7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of
Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
8 And
David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing,
and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and
with trumpets.
9 And
when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to
hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
10 And
the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he
put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
Chapter 15:15 (The correct way)
15 And
the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the
staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.
Ananias
and Sapphira lied to the church and God killed them in front of everyone and
there was great fear in the church.
Ac 5:11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
Without
the fear of the Lord there is no purity in the church. Next to Gods nature and
name, his service, his instituted worship, is the most dreadful thing under
heaven. When it came to food, there were some greedy people in the Corinthian
church. The Lords Supper was a meal not just crackers and wine. These people
would not think of others, they are so selfish they will think of themselves
and without thinking of others or waiting for them they will grab the food
first.
1Co
11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the
Lord's death till he come.
27
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord,
unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But
let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that
cup.
1Co
11:33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for
another.
God rebukes three kinds of people in worship.
1. Ps
79:6 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the
kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.
These are the people who do not care for God. They would
rather watch the football game on Sunday or have fun with friends. They are the
unbelievers who have no fear or honor to his Majesty.
2. Some
come to church worship God with the wrong heart and the wrong spirit. Some come
to worship God and they sleep during the sermon. But if it was an entertainment
they will not even blink their eyes. Some come to worship God so they can meet
their friends. They go to church because there are good looking guys and girls
or with the primary motive of chit chatting with their friends. Some come to
church to show their beauty and their dresses. Oh! What a sad account these
worshippers give, they do not come to church to worship God and to fear of his
name. They will not escape the punishment of God.
3. There
are others who come to worship him but they have no fear to God but
Have fear toward men as they follow mans rules but not
God. They follow traditions of men and fear these traditions and not God. They
are hypocrites and stinks in the nostril of God.
Isa 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this
people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but
have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the
precept of men.
In close, God is infinitely above us and infinitely just and holy, therefore we ought to fear him and tremble before him as he is our Creator, Lord, Master and Savior those who have no fear of the Lord he will be their Judge and not the Savior. The whole duty of man is to glorify him. There are many who come to worship God but how many wants to serve him? Worship and service of God cannot be separated. The true Christians will worship and serve God. Many are called but a few are chosen. The chosen ones the elect will hear the sermon and will obey his voice. They will have a godly worship and godly conversation with a holy fear.
