Holiness

My longing is that the churches may be holy. I grieve to see so much of worldliness conformity. How often wealth leads men astray; how many Christians follow the fashion of this wicked world. It is a shameful thing for a professor of Christianity to be found in those music halls, saloons and places of revelry where you cannot go without your morals being polluted

Birds of a feather flocks together.

An unholy church is useless to the Lord and useless to the world.

You are God’s priests then act like a priest in the house. You are God’s king, then reign over your lusts. You are God’s chosen then do not live in sin. You have the Holy Spirit to be Holy.

High calling is a Holy calling from the Holy God to Holiness. (Nick)

The happiest state of the Christian is holiness.

Live in the power of our risen Savior.

The object of our life is God and we must follow Christ to be with God.

Consolation

Consolation is the dropping of a gentle

dew from heaven on desert hearts beneath.

Spiritual Growth

As ye root downward, seek to

grow upward.

forward is heaven! forward is Christ! But here, to stand still is

danger; nay, it is death.

Heaven

Absence from Christ is hell; but presence with

Christ is heaven;

In heaven there will be rejoicing, in hell there will be screaming.

Oh, yes, God is my witness, there are some of you not

an inch nearer heaven, but ye have sealed your own damnation doubly sure,

unless ye repent: for ye have heard the Gospel, ye have despised

prophesyings, ye have rejected the counsel of God against yourselves; and,

therefore, when you shall die ye must die pitied by your friends, but at the

same time with your blood on your own heads.
