Amillennialism

Amillennialism has to do with “No” Millennium, meaning there is no literal 1000 year earthly reign of Christ. They believe the Millennium is period. Amillennialism does not believe in a future literal millennium. Amilllennialism believe millennial kingdom of Christ began with His incarnation and will consummate at His Second Coming. They are also called Realized Millennium. As the Millennium is now. The millennium is the literally the spiritual reign of Christ on earth in the kingdom of His church and in the saints in heaven. They believe it believes that good and evil will exist side by side until the harvest, which Jesus said will be the end of the world.

Binding of Satan.

Amillennialism believe binding of Satan is not totally capturing him and he will be totally out of power. It is in reference to the deceiving of the nations that he is bound.

Re 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Jesus spoke of binding of Satan.

Mt 12:29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? And then he will spoil his house.

(Read Matthew 12:22-32)

Here in context we see Jesus healing a demon-possessed man, binding Satan so the man can be set free. The end times speaks of the Messiah who will come as the Jews responded, “Could this be the Son of David?” (Matthew 12:23.) But the Pharisees did not want to admit the power of Jesus but instead said Jesus is being used by the devil’s power to do miracles. Saying Jesus is of the devil, this is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

But Jesus refutes them. By saying, “But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.” (Mt 12:28) The kingdom of God has come to the new believer not in a future tense but when he is born again, he is entering into the kingdom of God. In a kingdom there is a king, the king rules the kingdom. Christian in his before Christ days was in the kingdom of Satan.

Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.

Now he is ruled by another king, Christ is the king. It is not our will anymore but Christ rules our hearts as the Holy Spirit is in us.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.

The beginning of Jesus’ earthly ministry we see Satan is bound so when people hear the gospel, God in his own sovereign will can lose the elect from Satan’s power and bring them to Christ’s kingdom.

Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Again, the Amillennialism does not believe in a literal pit where Satan is bound. But they see this is something already happened when Christ arrived to earth, during his ministry. As Christ mission was to see and to save which was lost.

Lu 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

We see the result below as it was a great success.

Lu 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Here again we see Satan’s power is bound where salvation is concerned. But he is still a roaring lion. Jesus said do not be afraid of those who can kill the body as many were martyred as Satan is in the business of killing Christians. But the Christians salvation is secure in Christ Jesus.

Mt 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Reigning of Christ is to plunder to destroy Satan’s kingdom by bringing souls who are bound in Satan to Christ Jesus. We are in the kingdom age, where the Armilleniallism believes Christ ruling and reigning in our lives is the millennium or the kingdom age.

In verse 6 we see, “Blessed and holy is he, that hath part in the first resurrection for such the second death hath no power. But they shall be the Priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him for thousand years.”

They claim there is no physical resurrection here and the resurrection here speaks of regeneration. As the believing sinner is rescued from Satan’s bondage by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Joh 5:21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

True believers are the ones where God opened their heart to hear and respond to the gospel, they were dead to God before, dead in trespasses and sins and now they are alive.

Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved ;)

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

This is the spiritual resurrection where the believer is raised to life and seated together with Christ in heavenly places.

Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ.

At the end of the age Satan will be loosed for a little while and will deceive many, there will be the final confrontation with the enemy as he will be defeated forever and the final judgment.
