Fall of Lucifer, pride the beginning of sin

We are living in a world where most people believe there is a devil and there are many religions. Most people, even church going people have no idea that Satan in the past was the most beautiful, perfect type angel, although other religions may believe in a devil but they too are helpless explaining Satan, only the Bible, God's holy word that is unique from any other tells us of Lucifer this fallen angel and the first sin of the universe. How this sin affected mankind and God's remedy for sin and God's punishment for Satan and all who follow him.
Let's turn to Ezekiel 28:12-15
12 “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘You
were the seal of perfection,
full of
wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden,
the
garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
carnelian,
chrysolite and emerald,
topaz, onyx and
jasper,
lapis lazuli, turquoise and
beryl.
Your settings and mountings were made of gold;
on
the day you were created they were prepared.
14 You were
anointed as a guardian cherub,
for so I
ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you
walked among the fiery stones.
15 You were blameless in your
ways
from the day you were
created
till wickedness was found in you.
(Ezekiel 28:12-15)
Here God is speaking to the king of Tyre but many scholars believe that though there was a human “ruler” of Tyre, this king was influenced by Satan. Satan worked through this human king, God prophesied that he would destroy Tyre, and today we see only ruins ruins of Tyre.
Lucifer was the most beautiful angel, perfect in beauty, a guardian angel, who was blameless until God saw sin in Lucifer. We see the following in Isaiah 14:12-15
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
What was the sin of Lucifer? It was pride, he wanted to become God. Pride is the worst sin in the Bible.
Book of James 4:6 says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
C.H Spurgeon said on pride, “You may see it in the beggar’s rags as well as in the rich man’s garment. It dwells with the rich, and with the poor. The man without a shoe to his foot may be as proud as if he were riding in a chariot. Pride can be found in every rank of society — among all classes of men. “
7 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, 8 but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
Revelation 12:4 His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth.
Jesus said in Luke 10:18 “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”
Satan's goal is to deceive people.
What is deception, according to the Cambridge Dictionary:
“the act of hiding the truth, especially to get an advantage”
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary:
“the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid”
Satan was able to deceive on third of the angels, now these are fallen angels, demons. They are working non stop day and night everyday to deceive people, hiding the truth and lying, tricking people of the truth.
Satan has deceived people in the world that he looks like a mean ugly looking devil but the Bible tells the truth as he comes as an angel of light.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
And so are his workers, the false apostles, false teachers, and false ministers of the gospel.
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
His goal again is the same deception.
2Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
God's punishment
Revelation 19:10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Not only the devil but all his followers will end up in the lake of fire, all who refused to believe in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to heaven, he is the only Savior, he is the only mediator between God and men.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
