How to grow as a Christian

By Nick Bibile

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,  rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7)

THE WORD OF GOD GIVES NEW BIRTH

·         Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; (1 Peter 1:23)

NEED GOD’S SPIRITUAL MILK TO GROW, OR ELSE YOU WILL REMAIN WEAK.

·         Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation. (2 Peter 2:2)

THERE ARE NO SHORT CUTS FOR GROWTH, NEED TO STUDY WITH DILIGENCE.

·         My son, if you receive my word and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight  and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:1-5)

WE CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT PHYSICAL FOOD BUT SPIRITUAL FOOD IS MORE IMPORTANT TO OUR SOUL, SEE ALSO MATTEW 4:4

·         I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;   I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.  (Job 23:12)

NEED TO READ AND STUDY THE WORD OF GOD WITH EXCITEMENT

·         Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy  and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name,   Lord, God of hosts. (Jeremiah 15:16)

MEDITATE WHAT YOU STUDIED DURING THE DAY AND REMEMBER BEFORE GOING TO BED.

·         This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8)

MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO APPLY THE WORD OF GOD TO YOUR DAILY LIFE, OTHERWISE YOU STUDIED IN VAIN.

·         But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22)
