Matthew 24
(I am using English Standard Version which is translated word to word in Greek)
Sign of Jesus coming, today we will focus on the false prophets, false Christ’s, false doctrines that will grow bigger and bigger before the coming of Jesus. Four times Jesus repeated in this chapter many are going to be led astray.
Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads
you astray.
Verse 5 - For many will come in my name,
saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray
Verse 11 - And
many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.
Verse 24 - For
false Christs and false prophets will arise and
perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the
elect.
Then he said on verse 25 - See, I have told
you beforehand.
When did he say on beforehand? Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
What is the motive of the false prophets, false teachers or false doctrines? “to lead you astray” DECEPTION. The Greek word for lead you astray is humas planesei – it means as it say, to lead astray. The goal of the false teachers is to deceive you, to trick you, to mislead you, to cause you to err, they will attempt for you to make a wrong judgment, to seduce you into wrong doctrine.
Jesus gave the best possible illustration in Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Let me explain a little bit. They do not come to you looking like a wolf, although they are wolves, they will not show you that they are wolves but will come to you wearing sheep clothing. What is the sheep clothing? Sheep clothing is their vocabulary. Meaning, the words and the biblical language they use. Also being very friendly, polite, looking very sincere and truthful, they will also use the name of Jesus, Bible being the word of God, Holy Spirit, encourage you to grow, give scriptures. IF YOU ARE NOT A STRONG CHRISTIAN, MAY GOD HELP YOU, AS YOU CAN BE EASILY BE DECEIVED. That’s why I have been hammering to your head, how important for you to grow in the Lord, so you will know how to discern what is right and wrong.
2 Corinthians 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising
themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself
as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also,
disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.
These false prophets and teachers comes to you as an angel of light but they are really from
Satan. Now how to take off the sheep
clothing so you will see a wolf?
Do not believe anyone just because they are
using the Bible, sounds good, they have a large audience, they are popular,
they look very sincere, do not believe them until you do some research on them,
THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!! . When I first start a Bible study, I always tells my students do not believe what I say, unless you
check me out first. Be like the Bereans, the Bereans checked Paul out to see if he is telling the truth.
Acts 17:10 Paul and Silas away by night to
Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the
word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things
were so
Now let us do a test, Let’s
take the Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ, you can call them Mormons. When you
look at Mormon missionaries, they look very decent, innocent as a sheep, they carry
a Bible, they use God’s word, Jesus Christ, sounds good right, looks like a
sheep, now do some research on them and see what they really believe. When you
do a research you find the following:
Adam became a god,
he came down to earth and had sex with Mary.
Also they believe,
Jesus is the brother of Lucifer.
Now you see a wolf, but they will never
tell you these things, they will try to deceive you, now to tell you the truth
even they are deceived by Satan.
