Why we need to pray in Jesus Name?

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Because Jesus is alive, he is living, he is in heaven, because he is alive, he can hear our prayers. Buddhists doesn’t pray in Buddha’s name or Muslims don’t pray in Mohammed’s name as they are dead.

Because Jesus told us to pray in his name.

John 14:14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

He is the only mediator between God and man. There is no access for a sinful creature to Holy God without a mediator.

1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Roman Catholics say, God is very busy and Jesus is busy, that’s why we need to go through Mary and the dead saints. This is absolutely false, this is man’s teachings and traditions, there is not one single scripture in the Bible to say, God and Jesus is very busy and you need to go through Mary.

On the other hand God is omniscient and omnipotent. God can see how many hairs you got, as Jesus said, your hairs are numbered.

You need to be in union with Jesus and you need to be in his word, then you can pray in His name.

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you

We pray in Jesus name because He is our High Priest. The job of the priest is to represent and intercede for his people in prayer.

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 7:25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

We have access to God in Jesus, and we can come boldly and with confidence to God through Jesus

Ephesians 3:12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.

We pray in Jesus name, because He is the only way to God.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Also we come to God in His name because He is our defending lawyer, the advocate.

1 John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Our Prayers goes directly to the throne room of God!

Revelation 8:3-4 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, ⁴ and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel.
