Warning! Warning! It’s not Coronavirus but a Real Hell

“For I am tormented in this flame.” (Luke 16:24)

Why did Jesus while on this earth spoke more on hell than heaven? Because it’s a real place and as a warning. The devil is very clever in keeping this subject shut from the pulpits. Also the devil is very clever in making jokes of hell as if it does not exist. However, hell is real. The final authority, the word of God speaks on hell, Jesus spoke on hell. Also the false teachers, worldly churches will not teach the never-ending torments of hell. Then if God is love why there is hell? Why would a loving God send people to hell? This is a very uncomfortable subject to many.

Why hell is eternal? God created us and we have an obligation to worship him, love him, honor him and obey him, because God is our Creator. As the Creator, we don’t belong to ourselves, we belong to him, as the Creator, we need to obey him. Our Creator God is infinitely (not limited to boundaries) holy and infinitely glorious and majestic. Not worshipping, not loving, not honoring and not obeying the infinite holy, glorious Lord requires an infinite punishment. If God is not holy then there’s no punishment, if God is less holy then the punishment is less, but God is infinitely holy and the punishment is infinite.

God drowned all the inhabitants of the earth in a world flood except Noah and his family. God poured fire and brimstone and killed the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah due to their sins. God did not change his nature. “For I am the LORD, I change not” (Mal 3:6) Today many are living in sin, enjoying the pleasures of sin, and many are storing sin, accumulating sin daily and any time God’s wrath is going to fall upon them. God will not clear the guilty as God’s righteousness and justice requires punishment.

Nahum 1:3 The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.

The Rich Man and Lazarus

^{Luke 16:19} “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. ²⁰ At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores ²¹ and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

²² “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. ²³ In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. ²⁴ So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

²⁵ “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. ²⁶ And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

²⁷ “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, ²⁸ for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

²⁹ “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

³⁰ “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

³¹ “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

This is not a parable, in a parable there are no names, this is a real true story. Why did Jesus tell us this story? Not to read as a bed time story, no as a WARNING! There is a real place called HELL!

GOD’S WORD IS GREATER TO AWAKE A SINNER AND BRING INTO REPENTANCE THAN A PERSON RISING FROM THE DEAD.

See verse 24, the rich man is asking for mercy, pity, mercy is before the grave, before death not after death, there is no purgatory in the Bible, that is only tradition. Also the rich man is saying he is tormented in hell in agony and his tongue is burning asking for a drop of water to cool the tongue. Why the tongue? Tongue is the worst sinful part in our body. Yes, on this earth it’s the tongue that spoke boastfully, the tongue that uttered prideful words, the tongue that compromised sin, the tongue that put other people down, the tongue that slandered, the tongue that was busy in gossiping, the tongue that lied, the tongue that cursed God, the tongue that uttered words of greediness, covetousness, selfishness, the tongue that deceived and tricked other people to profit your life, that is why James wrote a whole chapter on taming the tongue. (James chapter 3)

In Luke, the rich man told Abraham, if someone from the dead goes and warn his brothers they will repent. Abraham said, they have the Moses (law) prophets (Old Testament) Now we have the whole Bible, basically Abraham is telling they have the Bible, even if someone from the dead goes they will not repent.

I wish I can give you sugar coated sermon so I can make you laugh, but my job is to tell nothing but the truth. My job is to warn people there is a true hell, and it is up to you and others to believe it or not. Usually when you talk on hell you are not going to be a popular person, I am not looking for popularity among people, prophets and the apostles were beaten up for telling the truth as their message was not a popular message, so Jesus was crucified.

Many in this world have no desire to ask for God’s mercy as they are living a comfortable life. They have all their needs, sitting comfortably. They are satisfied in their needs, so they don’t cry for God, they will not strive to pray, they will not strive to enter through the narrow gate, their bellies are full, the flesh is comforted and they think they have no need for God.

Only when they are in deep trouble they will think of God, then they will go to the Bible seriously, then they will begin to pray seriously but now they are driving pretty comfortably on the broad road and they will not cry out to God. They are enjoying their pleasures, entertainment, no love to God as they love other things, no honor to love as they honor themselves with pride, no time for God, no fear of God. However, a time will come without your knowledge death will come suddenly, then it will be too late as God will pour out his wrath, then they will cry out to God asking for mercy, but it’s too late. But God will laugh at them.

Pr 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD.

What was Abraham’s reply to the rich man? , ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony

In Hell, you will remember everything how you spent your time in this earth, Abraham said, ‘remember your life on earth? Remember how much time you spent on your own fleshly happiness but did not have time for the Lord? Remember how God servants preached to you the word but you did not take it seriously? Remember how you always postponed not reading and obedient to the word of God. Remember you never had time to pray? Remember you had all the time to spend your worldly time in social media? Your favorite programs on T.V? Remember you never witnessed to anyone? But you had time to talk bad of people? Remember, remember, it’s going to be a remembrance of torment and you cannot repent!

^{Luke 12:16} And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. ¹⁷ He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

¹⁸ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. ¹⁹ And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

²⁰ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

Hell is place of torment with flame of fire. It is called; Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. (Mr 9:44)

It is called a furnace of fire. Mt 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

 It is called an unquenchable fire. Mt 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

 It is called a fire and brimstone, a lake of fire.

 Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

I would like you to light a candle and touch the candle flame for a second, it hurts, I am not talking candle flame but a lake of fire, it’s not for a second but for eternity, this is a warning for people to wake up. People are panicking because of coronavirus, they are scared to die but many have no fear of God but have a fear of coronavirus!

 Remember the rich man wanted a just a drop of water to cool his tongue because of the agony of the fire. Jesus too at the cross, bore the fierce wrath of God and he said, “I thirst” If you truly repent of your sins and turn to Christ instead of your flesh and this world, Christ bore the fierce wrath of God, he was our substitute as he said, “I thirst” Then Christ uttered his last word on the cross saying, “It is finished” Yes, beloved, if you believe it, Christ accomplished salvation for you from the wrath of God that is going to come. Christ did it! Jesus Christ saves! He is the Savior, which came to save sinners from the wrath to come.

Now I encourage you to be a serious Christian, read and study your Bible, it is not another book but the word of God Almighty, if you love him, then read his Word! Pray through Christ Jesus! Have fellowship with stronger Christians, then you don’t have to fear of hell as God has prepared mansion for you in heaven, heaven too is for eternity!
